AICTE-IDEA LAB

AICTE-IDEA Lab (Idea Development, Evaluation & Application) is a flagship initiative of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) designed to transform technical education across India by strengthening hands-on learning, innovation, and product development. The IDEA Lab offers a common, multidisciplinary facility embedded within AICTE-approved institutions where students and faculty can apply the fundamentals of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to real-world challenges through experiential learning and prototype creation.

The primary aim of the IDEA Lab is to promote creativity, critical thinking, design thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills — essential 21st-century competencies that go beyond traditional classroom instruction. By providing access to prototyping tools, advanced technologies, and a collaborative environment, the lab empowers learners to “engage, explore, experience, express and excel” throughout the innovation journey. Additionally, these labs act as a platform for faculty to integrate multidisciplinary projects, research activities, and internships into academic programs.
